FLYing... Or at least trying to.

Well, I guess starting a new blog isn't doing anything for my blogging frequency... but then again, there hasn't been much to blog about. Last week seemed to be like one huge blur where I got hardly anything accomplished. This is driving me crazy. Why can't I seem to focus on anything for more than five minutes? Why does it seem like I've done absolutely NOTHING all day long?!?

Well... I suppose I haven't done entirely nothing all week long, but it just seems that way.

On the FlyLady front, I did okay with my routines on Monday... but I just couldn't seem to make it work on Tuesday... Tuesday's a weird day because it's music day, so I don't have a lot of extra time. I'm thinking that I may have to come up with a modified morning routine for Tuesdays.... and since I didn't do my routine on Tuesday, I fell off the bandwagon for the rest of the week. Even though I didn't do my full routine, I did do some decluttering... Including going through a crapload of unopened mail that I'd just kinda plopped on my desk.

My goal for tomorrow is to do some purging and organization of my CDs. I've decided that I'm going to get rid of the cases, and put everything into binders. I was inspired to do this by an entry on Apartment Therapy, which showed how much space could be saved by eliminating DVD cases. I'm hoping to eliminate the whole shelf that's got the CDs and DVDs are on.

The drawback that seems to be happening because of FlyLady is that I've been obsessing over getting things organized, which has been making uber difficult to focus at work. I spent half the week looking at the shelf with the CDs wishing I could remedy the situation with that right that second. Drove me crazy to have to wait!

Focusing has been so hard lately, I wish I could figure out why... I've been trying to make things better, but it only seems to make it worse. I wish I knew what to do...

We did have one major triumph this past week though. We ate at home! The only day we didn't was on Wednesday, because we had to go out to look at an apartment... but we made a meal plan, went grocery shopping and ate at home... and shockingly, actually lost a few pounds too.

neato!

hooray, new blog! it looks great. Smiling

Flylady intrigues me; I've read through her site every few years or so but have never tried her system. I hear that it works wonders though.

and it's awesome that you picked up the violin -- when did that happen?

The violin is a very recent

The violin is a very recent endeavor... I started four weeks ago tomorrow.

FLY

I'm sorry you're having trouble with FlyLady Sad

I'm 8 days in now and I love it! Though I didn't do my night routine last night - we were camping and I was just too exhausted to go through everything.

I've learned my lesson though - my morning has royally sucked so far and my kitchen is a mess. I'm going to start my control journal today and get back into it.

If you want help, maybe we could work together or something. Are you actually doing the babysteps or trying it a little differently?

I think a lot of it has come

I think a lot of it has come from the fact that I just haven't been feeling very well recently. It's hard to stay motivated and on track when you're tired and feeling quasi-sick all the time. (I'm going to the doctor today).

As far as the baby steps go.... I'm trying to keep the "baby steps" spirit in mind when I'm doing things, but I'm not necessarily doing her baby steps.
